Appearantly the Standing Council has been following the progress of X Marks and are impressed with our feeling of family and belonging which are the hallmarks of the definition of Clan.
Steve you and I had an interesting conversation about this subject on the telephone while I was ordering my Xmarks cap badge. It is a very interesting prospect which, I at least, feel would be worth looking into. It's also interesting that the Standing Council of Scottish Chieftans is keeping an interested eye on us. The fact that they are even open to the idea of Xmarks as the first official "Internet clan" is, in my mind, a very encouraging sign that we are living up to the standards that we have set for ourselves, which is often rare in the internet universe.

Has anyone in the past (near or distant) done any inquiring into the application process, or has this been nixxed already?

I think the authorities would smile on it if at the next Gathering of the Clans there was a very large contingent of men in XMTS tartan upon the field.
