    lowland scotland

    Does anyone know if the Strathclyde region, or more specifically Ayrshire ever had a tartan made?

    Yes, there's an Ayrshire District tartan. Pretty nice too.

    wow...thanks guys! It is a likely possibility that my Rowland line came from that area when surnames first came into use around the 11-1200's. Nice tartan.
