Talking my greatest kilt accessory (a pictorial)

yesterday I received the first part of the my greatest kilt accessory. My clan crest tattoo. I took my fiancée with me and she took a few pictures of the process.

here I am getting ready to get started. my tattoo artist just transfered my drawing to my arm.

here we are working on the outline.

    heres the finished black outline.

here we are coloring it in

I'm not quite finished yet, we ran out of time yesterday. I still need a bit more color in the belt and in the hawk. I'm going back in about a month to finish up. This is how it looks so far...

I LOVE IT! Yes, that is my clan tartan in the background! Its absolutely beautiful. And the best part of it, I now get to wear my tartan all the time. how many other people even get to shower in their tartan?

Excellent, I am considering getting my clan crest on my right calf this fall. My daughter and I are going to get tats together for her 18 birthday.

The artist did a great job of it. You should certainly be proud of that one.

    I Like it!!!!

(For those thinking of joining him, just be sure the tatoo reflects a definate clan affiliation. I know of several who picked one off a sept list, only to do research and find it was ACTUALLY from another clan. Just a note of caution, that's all.)

The artist did a good job with the tartan (not easy to do well).

    Very nice piece, congratulations.

'tis a skilled ink slinger that can do a tartan...my skin bleeds too much methinks. A clan crest is on my list too...waiting for the Clan Donald book to come out. Really like the crest on the bookjacket...Amazon keeps moving the release date back...guess its the publisher's fault...last update was July...

And, hey...for us slow pokes...what's the clan?

As a tattoo artist myself, I have to comment on the smooth radius of the circles: they have to be one of the hardest things to do with a tattoo machine! Nice job all over, congrats to you, credit to the artist.
