    Shepherd check kilt

AT the Woodland Games I came across a fellow wearing a shepherds check kilt. I exclaimed "Northumberland!" and he smiled, which set off a nice conversation. I'd always had my doubts about a Shepherds check kilt, but this looked very nice with a black belt, black sporran, big chrome buckle, white hose and black ghillies. I'm thinking that to wear it well you'd want to accent the black/white contrast inherent in the check, which is what he did.

    Wish I'd had a camera.

I have Piercey ancestors, back there about the same time as my McKnight and Bryson ancestors, and have long thought about a bit of Shepherds check clothing.

I DEFINITELY want a check kilt. I tend to lean toward the Burn's Check though.

Cut me some slack. It was a typo. We ALL make them from time to time.

Oh, and I certainly hope it doesn't take a minor in jounalism to catch a simple one like that!

No worries or offence intended, TB -- Lord knows I certainly make my fair share of them!
