    Tartan ID-> Black and Blue

    Here is some material I have had for a few years. Best I can tell, it is a HIGH END soft wool saxony (100% wool) and somewhere around 16 oz.
    Anyone recognize this as a "real"/registered tartan, or is it something else (like a fashion tartan).

    The colors are darker than they photographed. The blue is deeper and less royal.

    (I am using the ubiquitous Buzz Kidder sporrans as a base for size/sett-> they are 2 generations, in three very different constructions)

    It doesn't seem to like the "edit" at the moment, so the third pict is SUPPOSED to be:
    MacWage, "Dark Lord of the Box Pleat!"/ "Box Pleat Militant" Laird of Glenmoor (Carolina)
    CARPE TARTANAM! (Seize the Tartan!)

    Nice looking tartan, but I don't recognize it. Hopefully Matt Newsome will chime in and we'll know what it is

    By the way, I have looked and looked, but found nothing. Though, as this forum is SO good at IDing the odd and unusual tartans, I would make one final effort before I assume (you know the rhyme) a "new" name for it.
    Right now, I call it the "Batman Tartan."

    Nice name. However, I have a feeling Matt can shed some light on it.

    Wouldn't that make it "Wayne Black"?

    But if it was the "Batman Tartan", wouldn't it have a yellow stripe somewhere?

    What about a REAL superhero???

    How 'bout "Beast Tartan" after all he was a McCoy!!!

    Maybe "Thayer", since he was the lead guitar for "Black 'n Blue" (now guitar for KISS)
