| | | Is there a Clark Clan Crest?
I'm looking for a kilt pin with some Clark connotations to go with my new Clark kilt.
Celticstudio on the bay has kilt pins with every clan under the sun. Now I know Clark can be a sept of (among others) Cameron, and this is what he would provide for a Clark pin.
Hunting around the web I came across a crest with an anchor and the motto "Sure and Steadfast". http://www.scotsconnection.com/clan_crests/Clark.htm
I got flashbacks to my youth in the Boy's Brigade back in Glasgow.
Does the collective and intensely knowledgable rabble mind know whether "Sure and Steadfast" of Clark of Camphill is the only Clark option, or is Clan Cameron the way to go?

The Clark crest I have seen ties into the "Clergy" connection. It is an emblem showing the burning bush (as in Moses) with the words "It was not consumed" (in Latin, of course) around it.
My first kilt was a Clark/Clergy semi-traditional from USAK.

Thanks to both of you!
I'm already pushing the boundaries of religion with the Clark/Clergy tartan so I'm going with the Cameron.

Around it, it said,"Per Scribus Pro Deus Et Caledonia". "To write for God and Scotland". Rearing lion with a cross over it.

Todd

Is your surname Clark or does your family have connections with that surname or do you just want to add to a favourite kilt you now own because it was a Tartan you liked ? Has mentioned that surname does have connections with Clergy, but with a few Clans as well. Cameron (my favourite, I'm a Cameron), Chattan, Clark, MacPherson, and MacKintosh. Now what a minute, I missed your last post somehow looking back at what was already written. You picked Clan Cameron, GOOD CHOICE !!! |

I have to weigh in that yes, Clark is also sept of Clan MacIntosh and as someone bedecked with the motto (my daughter had it tatooed on her back) there is nothing wrong with "Touch not the cat bot a glove!"

Aye, MacKintosh, we've had a few boughts over the centuries with your lot . I to have a very large display on my back and left leg showing my stuanchly loyal Cameron pride complete with motto Aonaibh Ri Cheile (Unite) and war cry Chlanna Nan Con Thigibh A So's Gheibh Sibh Feoil (Sons of the hounds come here and get flesh). Not only have we been known by both friend and enemy has loyal, brave, and courageous, but we are also known has fiercer than fierceness itself. So with that being said, I think the lad picked a fine choice ! Sorry kennethrmc, it's in my blood, ya can't shake it out. Alas, time has passed, and we now, All, share friendship, UNITED !!! | | | | X Marks Advertisers | | For Quality Scottish Made Products at Affordable Prices | | | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
