UPS tartans-what can brown do in a kilt?

Interesting, UPS registered two restricted tartans to celebrate golf and their sponsorship of a number of gold tournaments on the Euro tour. I wonder if these will actually be made into kilts for drivers, or just tournament volunteers, or what.

I saw these in my e-mail from the tartan registry this morning. Not sure yet about my opinion.

I like the deeper gold color over the lighter but I'm more interested in the inspiration of the sett. My first thought was it was the barcode structure for "UPS". Interesting that they went with what I believe is an asymmetrical sett. I would not expect a company to take such a unique direction when trying to present/adopt a traditional image.

I also prefer the warmer field color in this one.
    .
The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer.

I like that one better also.

As I said I think this tartan is for their European business-who knows, maybe we'll see it here, but I doubt it.

Would love to see an actual one in action! (I'd love to apply for a job at UPS, if only to wear a kilt in the USP tartan!

Very interesting indeed. I think I prefer UPS No.1 with the darker brown background, it brings to mind their uniform more so than the tartan with the lighter background. Our UPS driver donned his shorts for the season about two months ago, not sure if he'd wear a kilt, but it certainly would be comfortable.
