vendor:Canadian Tartans on ebay

Greetings all, 29 November, 709pmMST

I just saw some tartan offerings on ebay.

http://stores.ebay.com/Canadian-Tartans

They have all the Provincial tartans, as well as some Clan tartans. They have them in wool, double-width, at $40 something per yard.

At present, they are offering 32 wool selections, from cut pieces to off-the bolt.

Regards aye,

T.

Cool, thanks T. Although one note, what is shown as Ontario is "Ensign of Ontario" and not the official provincial tartan. Might still consider it for a nice light box pleat.

If you look at the details on these fabrics they are listed as Poly/Viscos of 10.5oz.

I know these fabrics and they are great for a vest, party decorations and housewares. But I would caution about trying to make a Kilt from them.

The Selvedge is a large fringe with 3-8 lines of contrasting threads along the edge.

Some of these fabrics have the feel of pajamas or sleep pants flannel. In fact that it one of the largest uses of these fabrics.

I see those---the ones labelled "suiting" seem to be PV. I agree with Steve, if it's like a Nova Scotia sample I have. It's a candidate for a nice skirt (lined).

However there are wools listed, whose description sounds like Fraser & Kirkbright's tartans...

The wools sound EXACTLY like Fraser and Kirkbright tartans, and are roughly comparable or a little cheaper in price than there. Who else in Canada's west coast weaves 12 oz merino wool tartans in all the canadian provinces?
