    What Tartan to chose from???

I am at a delima, I don't know what to do. I am looking for a tartan that is a muted tartan with lots of Green (and by green I mean Black Watch, foresty green) and other colors like Black and a Dark Purple maybe with a single line of white or another bright color (ex. of this is Lamont Ancient)
Are there any other tartans out there that may look very similar to this?
    Dunbar p-1 Bagpipes: $817
    Stillwater "Night Stalker" Kilt: $80
    EZEE Drone Reeds: $75

First go to USAKilts click on casual and look at all Rocky has to offer.
    I personally like Buccleuch.
Or go to the tartan ferret and search by name clan or colour.
One also to check out is Isle of Skye search here for beutiful pics of this tartan.
    The Grant.

Do you want wool or PV?
If PV, look at USA Kilts, like stated.

If wool, look at Lochcarron's site and see if anything "catches your fancy" (like Isle of Sky, for example). Then have Matt make you one.

-OR have a custom tartan woven. There are a NUMBER of historic tartans that fit the description, look under the STA Tartan Ferret at the Wilson & Sons un-named tartans. http://www.tartansauthority.com/web/site/home/home.asp

    Lamont Kilt

Personally I like the Lamont colors best. Of course I may be just a bit prejudiced in the matter.

I have to admit I didn't realize there was such a following of those that would be willing to wear any clan color. I'm not trying to be argumentative, just surprised.

Nor am I, but ... well, no one has actually said that they would. MBP merely set the parameters for a tartan quest, without giving a context. One result was a sort of district tartan.

I like the Lamont tartan and its variations very much, too; but if I wore it, I'd be hanging on the slender thread of consanguinity with a relative, who married a man, whose name may or not have a connection to the Lamont clan... My tartan addiction has not quite reached that point. Yet! However, he was pastor of a historically significant church near my home turf, so the thought has crossed my mind.
