I've been told that October is the best time to go up that way. What's your opinion Ron ?

Never thought of a "best time" Rich. I'm not much on snow but do like the look of white snow on the red rocks. Spring and fall are comfy. Summer isn't bad if you aclimatize to the heat as the weather warms up. If you like the great bargains from the roadside stands of Navajo pottery and jewelry there are more set up in the summer. More bikinis in the summer. Fewer people in the cold months. Guess it depends on what is important to you. Canyonlands are always pretty due to the ever changing angle of the sun on the rocks.

My wife and I made a run out that way a couple years ago in late Jan early Feb. We were only there for three nights and it was great. I had wanted to head thru Page but we just didn't have the time to take the long way home. If you get the chance to visit that area, be sure to take your time. As impressive as all the pictures are that you see of the Grand Canyon, they just don't really show how impressive it is.
