Nice that the article didn't mention or flirt with the obvious question.

Yes.. THE question: why didn't his friends warn him about the social consequences of wearing white socks with the kilt...

How did I miss that this was going to happen? Well, it sounds like his statement helped raise the $$ they were getting. Very good cause.
