Columbus Scotish Post Report

Despite what you may read here, I had a wonderful time.

I was able to go on sunday, so this may have been a contributing factor. The fair grounds seemed to be sparse. there did not appear to be a lot of people there. I enjoy the act of compitition, and there was not a crowd for the displays, games, or vendors. I watched the games and often felt like the only observer. At first I felt that I was yelling at a golf game. If somebody had a good throw, I would cheer. After a bit, the meager crowd did make a little noise, thou slightly larger than a golf clap. I kind of got to thinking that maybe I was doing it wrong in cheering.

The lack of crowds did make it easy to chat with vendors. One vendor and I spoke of waterfowling for over half an hour. When it comes to hunting, I could talk for hours on ethics, guns, dogs, conservation, ect. The Girlfriend was getting bored, and let me know. So I had to follow her, she did decide later to revisit that vendor again, so we started up the previous conversation as though we never stopped, for another hour. Hunting in Scotland is far different than the U.S.

The car show had some good looking cars, sundays line up included 12 various vehicles. They were sharp looking cars, more so since four (2 MGA's, MGB, and a Ford Avilto(?)) still sported the original paint. Always a bonus, the owners spent lots of time talking with my Geriatric, hard of hearing father. I occasionally would interprit for my fathers.

Again, the festival was a grand time. I will post pics later today.

Don't forget the Irsh Festival this weekend in Indy. They had some great bands last year. From classic Irsih folklore to heavy metal(ish).
