Now that we are in the new year it is time to start planning for the various events that will take place during the year. The Kentucky Scottish Weekend is scheduled for May 7 and 8, 2010. The 7th is Friday and by invitation only so Saturday the 8th will be the main event. I plan on attending if my work schedule and the weather permit. There is coupon for $1 off the gate admission price on their web site.

I hope to be there on the 8th, leading the Louisville Pipe Band Grade 5 (beginner's competition band) unit in the pipe band competition in the afternoon.

(Got elected Pipe Sergeant of the Louisville Pipe Band at the end of November, and the new Pipe Major put me in charge of the Grade 5 competition band).

I will probably be there again this year, hoping the weather is better (rain Friday last year made for a really muddy Saturday field). If the boy comes along he will be sporting a new kilt this year (grew out of his infant kilt), so long as it arrives before then. It is only about a 45 min drive for us and in a very lovely setting.

I plan to be there. I'll be camping at the park, You are all welcome to to come by saturday night and visit and maybe have a drink or poke a stick in the fire.

It's a nice day trip, so I will plan to attend if I don't have to be in Paducah that weekend.

Campfire sounds nice. Don't know if I'll stay that late, though.
