Louisville Worldfest

is Friday and Saturday, September 4 and 5 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the city’s waterfront Belvedere at 5th and Main Streets. Admission is free - an international menu of food and drinks available for purchase.

Saturday, the Louisville Pipe Band (yours truly will be marching with them) will be leading the parade, starting at noon at 6th & Market. We will be performing at the Main Stage (on the West Lawn, behind the Kentucky Center for the Arts) from 1 to 1:30. For those of you that haven't seen one, a naturalization ceremony will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Fourth Street Live.

So, gents, wear your kilts - ladies wear your tartan as well - there'll be several other kilts down there on Saturday.

More info can be found here: http://www.louisvilleky.gov/Internat...+WorldFest.htm

I know this comes at the last minute. Does everyone have an approximate time when they will be there? The wife and I are talking about going. I'm not sure when we'll be heading up there though??

Wife and I were there today.

We got there at 12 noon, and stayed there until 2 PM.

Plenty of people, plenty of international food, plenty of music.

Louisville Pipe Band played and they sounded really tight.

At least while we were there, I was the only kilted visitor.

And among sarongs, african garb and some asian island nation MUG attire, my kilt did not raise any eyebrows.

Thanks much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was really a so-so performance for us - we didn't have some of our senior pipers that normally play harmonies, and we were missing a couple of drummers as well.

I saw a couple of members of the Fire & Rescue band in their kilts, but didn't see any other kilts about. You & I must have been in different parts of the crowd. (I also changed out of my band uniform when the show was over.) I didn't get to stick around for long after - I rode in with another band member. We had lunch, walked & talked a bit, then left.
