Rescheduled: Free Scotch Whisky 2/17 Westboro MA Rescheduled for February 17th due to impending giant snow storm prediction
Hello Rabble,
I would love to see some kilties come out to represent...
I am now representing Douglas Laing Single Barrel/Malt independently bottled malts.
So we are going to do a pre-arrival event on February 17th. At Julio's Liquors in Westboro from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The tasting is a free event with deep discounts on the malts sampled
Tasting list:
Blair Athol Highlands Distillery founded 1798 (working distillery) Aged 13 yrs Sherry Matured Pretty fragrant with a playful sweetness. Perfect for those looking for something outside the box.
Glen Garioch Highlands Distillery founded 1798 (working distillery) Aged 16 yrs Bourbon Matured Fruity and spiced with a hint of peat threaded in. Agreeably high grade malt that has both character and attitude.
Benriach SpeysideDistillery founded 1898 (working distillery) Aged 18 yrs The malt simply melts on the taste buds, enormously sweet, yet the balance is contained by the oak, with a swift appearance of pepper and spices.
Benrinnes Speyside Distillery founded 1826 (working distillery) Aged 13 yrs Bourbon Matured A citrus element sharpens the spice from the first moment, with barley layering along with a vanilla blast at the end.
Braeval Speyside Distillery founded 1974 (distillery closed) Aged 18 yrs The allure of this single malt is its simple, honest, delicate, mouth-cleansing intensity. The secret is its near perfect degree of sweetness.
Glen Grant Speyside Distillery founded 1840 (working distillery) Aged 31 yrs Sherry Matured Amazingly sweet for a sherry butt, with hints of molassed sugar amid the juicy mildly toasted raisin and a touch of spice.
Macallan Speyside Distillery founded 1824 (working distillery) Aged 20 yrs An attractive honey thread weaves through the oak, softened by the barley which is yielding and mouth watering. By far, a very rich textured scotch.
Bowmore Islay Distillery founded 1779 (working distillery) Aged 18 yrs A youthful aroma with dazzling multi-layered peat, offers varying degrees of intensity and sweetness, along with excellent vanilla involvement.
Bunnahabhain Islay Distillery founded 1881 (working distillery) Aged 12 yrs Brilliantly evocative and very true to the distillery. Tangy fruit, then a wave of oak and crispy barley, teasingly sweet with salted vanilla.
Laphroaig Islay Distillery founded 1820 (working distillery) Aged 15 yrs Black peppers explode all over the palate, leaving behind a trail of peat smoke. The controlled sweetness to the barley is sublime.
Port Ellen Islay Distillery founded 1825 (distillery closed) Aged 25 yrs The immaculate balance between the peat, malt and oak hits home from the very first second. Honey, vanilla, and spice released in controlled waves.[/img]
