Hooligans in Asheville Feb 19th

Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans (members of XMTS -- screen name "thatcelticband") will play Jack of the Wood Pub in Asheville on Feb 19th. This is a show that is not to be missed! These guys rock the house, amazing vocals and musicianship, wild fun!

If there is interest, I'd be up for hitting a few breweries prior to the show. For you out-of-town folks, Asheville is quickly becoming the hotbed of craft beer brewing in the southeastern US, with 7 breweries now in production, all of which have tasting rooms open on Fridays! I humbly offer my services as tour guide.

Beer sampling, dinner at Jack of the Wood public house, and then the Hooligans! Sounds like a great evening!

If the weather is decent, I'd also be up for leading a kilted hike the next day.

Ya'll come!

The attenders of this show should plan on having dinner upstairs at the Laughing Seed Cafe, which is a top-notch restaurant specializing in vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Even if you're a meat-eater, you'll like Laughing Seed.

Good suggestion. The food served at Jack's comes from the same kitchen and is of equally high quality, albeit more typical "pub fare". You can't go wrong either way.

The bummer in all this is that because we've missed so many days of school, the following day (Saturday) will be a school day.

Well, I try to hit the middle ground with hike groups. We've got some great easy to moderate trails out in Montreat that anyone can handle.
Trouble is I have to go to school on Saturday. :-(
