Dont know how many homebrewers out there that are kilted but just putting this out there as an idea... I wouldnt mind doing a Kilted brewday for the ones that would like to show up and participate/help out/hang out/maybe learn about a new hobby....

My place is kinda small but we could do it in the Xenia area at my girls house or if someone wants to donate their place for an evening that would be cool as I can pack all my gear and bring it to wherever.... just need access to a kitchen sink though I could probably just as easily make do with a garden spigot and some access to electric (though could make do without that too.... just not fun lifting 4-5 gallons of 170+ degree water to the top of a 6 foot brewing sculpture...)

If there are any other homebrewers you could bring your stuff too and have a big brew day...

Actually, I know how to, but my wife has kicked me out of the house (she doesn't like the smell of wort) and I haven't finished my electric brew kettle yet, so I haven't brewed in quite a while.

And Franklin is a bit of a drive for me.

Well, I am not much of a beer drinker but it would be interesting to see the process and visit for a while. Franklin is not that far away.

I use a turkey fryer burner and a stainless pot outside bought the whole setup from ebay a nice stainless base and a 8.5 gallon pot for about 70 bucks a few years back...

Mike if enough people want to check it out I will prolly host it in Xenia... would be alot closer for some and just alittle farther away for others LOL...

and even if I do it in franklin its only about a 20-25 minute drive from dayton...

I used to do partial boils on the stove (I could only boil about 2 gallons on my range). I've got a 15.5 gallon keg I've modified; cut an opening in the top, added a sightglass, drain, and thermometer to the side, and put in an electric water heater element. I need to finish the internal drain plumbing, and finish wiring up the electric. 50amp wire is expensive (planning for future expansion to all-grain).

Electric is cool (I use a 120V electric water heater element to heat my hot liqueur tank ) but nothing beats propane for the boil (my turkey fryer stand fits a keg perfectly btw) I just need to find a keg myself to convert for 10 gallon boils...

I am an all grain brewer BTW

I will keep in mind when I plan my next brewday(though it may be a little while as I am VERY short on funds till I get back to work LOL) Will prolly hold it up in Xenia will have alot more room to chill and generally be comfortable as brewday is more or less an all day event
