Is it wrong for me to want to move my family into Oak Hills School District JUST so my son can play for the Oak Hills HIGHLANDERS instead of sending him to Elder? Is that so wrong?

Which is best for your son? Not you,not any one else.

Who plays for Elder? The Elder Brothers? The Elder Statesmen? The Cthulhus? Wait - that last one is the Old Ones, not the Elders - nevermind.
Seriously, my answer is the same as Jock's - whichever is best for your son.

I noticed that the culture in Cincinnati puts much more emphasis on where you go to high school... much more than anywhere else in Ohio. I'm not sure what it is about Cincinnati; when I moved here everyone I met asked where I went to high school. I later learned from my girlfriend that people use it to gauge your personality. I think it has more to do with a status symbol. So my answer to your question depends solely on whether your son intends to live in Cincinnati after high school, otherwise it does not really matter. All I can say is watch out for those Elder boys, you know how they are.

People in Dayton seem to care more about the Bengals than people in West Chester. But I agree, it does seem that the schools are more status than anything. I know people in Medera. I don't know if they were always arrogant, but 2 kids in that HS has made them quite a bit so.

Depends. Elder is currently number 1 in the Ohio polls and has the support of the Westside. Oak Hills is public and you don't face the tuition.
Is it an issue of playing time, money, Colerain, St. X are too far away? It a big commitment to relocate the family so your son can play for Oak Hills.
Questions to ask, but I see nothing wrong with it.

That way you don't have to move. Best of both worlds.

School issues always should come down to this... were does your son want to school. End of the story.

Good heavens man, just what are you trying to teach your son?! The ONLY thing that matters is the quality of your family life and his education. Unless of course you are trying to live your dreams through him.
As someone who has been there I ask you to please let him live his own life.
