Portland Highland Games, July 18, some pics

My brother and I went kilted to the Games in Portland on Saturday, July 18th.
He purchased his first kilt in preparation for this and was excited!

That's my brother on the left, me on the right.

This Utilikilt, bagpiper, unicyclist was all over the grounds that day, funny fellow.
I can't imagine the wind/lungs this fellow has; I've used a unicycle, still have it in the garage, takes enough wind of it's own at times.

One of MANY bands that day that performed in front of the grand stand.

The participants in the "kilted mile" get "piped" up to the starting line!

Kilted mile folks getting ready.

That's all I have. Not a big picture taker.
The Games were fun.
DID talk w Robert the Kilted Lamb as he manned the Lamont tent.
SAW CaptMac at the MacKenzie tent, but he was busy explaining important stuff to attendees during the several times we went by the tent.

Got recruited to march in the parade of clans with the Stewarts! A lone woman called us over; she was holding the Stewart sign all by herself! A father and dau joined us before the procession started; daughter in long Royal Stewart skirt held the sign. Was fun waving/yelling w the crowd when the clan name was given! Nice surprise.

Not as many in attendance this year as last it seemed. Warm weather.
Interesting vendors. Lots of kids buying swords! (or their parents for them?). A nice day!

Thanks for a taste of the old homeland.
