Absolutely! Our weather is much better then Louisville!* We actually had a white Christmas and drivable roadways at the same time
And we apparently have a lot of scotch tastings...
*subject to biased opinion. your mileage may vary.

Wow, Sounds like a great idea. Received a Dewer's Discovery Gift set for Christmas.
Have you been to any of these Dewar's events before?

I haven't been to one of these. The only scotch tasting I went to was the one at Sigel's a bit ago. This seems to be a much different format. Instead of just trying umpteen different scotches and seeing which one you like better, it would appear that it will be more informational. It might help me understand why I like a certain scotch and not another. More like a "how to taste scotch". At least that's the impression I'm getting

Oh, and as far as I can tell, this is a free event. At the very least, I'm registered and didn't need a credit card, and nothing on the confirmation / let-me-in-dangit pass would indicate that there is a fee at the door.

So this is blended scotch? Not single malt?

Oh well, I'm not keen on Dewar's.
Although, one of the models used for the drum major for print adds back in the mid-20th Century was none other than Edgar T. MacIntyre.

Not sure that Dewar's makes any single malts, so I'd guess it's all blends. Good point, and one I hadn't thought of previously. Oh well, free liquor nonetheless

And if that weren't enough... if anyone cares for Irish Whiskey, there's a tasting at Idle Rich Pub in uptown on the 18th. Don't know the selection yet, but half a dozen or so 1-oz pours. Too bad I'll be So Cal by then!
