I go away for a while on secret sword-forum type business, and return, only to find that nae a post hae been posted about the Houston Highland Games.
Will I be the only one "representing"? http://www.houstonhighlandgames.com/

Change #1001, I'm going to be at the Crowne Plaza now for the games. Again, I will have the Boyd kilt (red), green kilt hose, white shirt w/ tie and black balmoral. My wife is 5'-3" and is hispanic. I'd like us to support Terry and others in the athletics (my piping event is EARLY Sat) and I'll find you guys at the MacIntyre tent as well.
See ya there!

Hey Guys:
Looks like I'm going to miss out on the Houston games this year... Family medical emergency.
My father-in-law had to have emergency brain surgery a couple of days ago. He'd fallen about six weeks ago and hit his head. Apparently, he'd had a slow bleed and by the time they'd realized it, he had about 200 cc's of blood that had forced his brain over to one side of his skull. They drained the blood, but he has yet to regain consciousness.
We're waiting around and hoping that he'll come to. Once he wakes up, we'll see if there's any stroke damage.
The guy's a horse... 6'4" former collegiate athlete who's in great shape. We're hopeful that he'll rebound...
Prayers on his behalf would be appreciated.
Hope you'll all have a good time. Hopefully, I'll catch you all at the games in Arlington next month.
