Talking Houston,Pub Piping and Mini Kilt contest 02/06

Aquarious Birthday Party and Pipe Band Bash! now incorporated as a Houston Highland Games Fundraiser at Kenneally's Pub , 2111 South Shepherd Drive , Saturday, February 6th 2010 .

7:30pm - Beer sampling of Brewdog, an edgy new brewery from Scotland, as well as Kilt Lifter from Seattle.

8pm - Pipe Band kick off. Kitchen piping (i.e. freestyle solos) to follow, including some possible highland dance.

9pm - Hottest lassie in micro-kilt contest. $100 cash prize to the winner. Runners up will no doubt be provided drinks at the bar by the spectators.

UPDATE!

When I made the post about the Pipe Band Bash, I was forgetting a important event earlier that day, (2/6)

The Rory Miggins Memorial Irish Stew Cook-Off, to benefit the Houston St. Patrick’s Parade Commission and the 51st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

More info here!

That sounds like a fun event! The rabble will want you to post pictures - of fellow X-markers drinking the Brewdog, of course.

I've never been there before. Homemade fries and chips can't be beat. Management needs to update the events page, though.
