NTIF planning 5K Kilt Run in 2012

    From the site

    http://www.ntif.org/

First Annual North Texas Kilt Run.

No, not this year, but probably in 2012, our 30th festival, we are thinking about a "5K Kilt Run". It's still in the planning stage (we work about 18 months ahead, so yes, we are already planning 2012) but assuming we can get a benevolent sponsor we will have a certified 5K run early Saturday morning. It will start and end at Big Pat (aka Big Tex) circle in Fair Park. Let us know if you would be interested in participating. Pick up at flyer at the SCMA booth while you are at this years festival.

    Sounds interesting.

    Sponsors for 5K Kilt run

    Drac,

I'm sure you've thought about this, but have you tried contacting any of your local tack/running clubs, police organizations, fire departments, charitable groups, etc.

Over here in NW Florida, we have many running/track clubs that are more than happy to help sponsor/organize and manage races. There are many race participants and track club members that regularly done kilt's after the race for the post race festivities, (I'm one...haven't run in a kilt, but it is on my bucket list).

We have a very large St. Patrick's Day run over here in NW Florida, ( maybe you're heard of it: McGuire's Irish Pub Prediction Run: http://www.imathlete.com/events/McGu...PatricksDayRun ), never really falls on St. Patty's day, but around then. We had over 10000 runners last year, and should have more than that this year.

    Just ideas....

Sorry. That is the text from their site. I will note that in the thread.

Actually I will pass it on to our external affairs group in the company.

Sounds good... hopefully I'll remember it next year; I'll definitely be in!

I'll be running kilted in the Dash Down Greenville just before the St. Paddy's parade in a few weeks!
