    Hi BriceKolob,

Can't come now, but I hope that it works out well. Maybe, we can plan another one for August, around Ed Week?

Hope to see you all this summer,

Another option is the Utah Scottish Association Tartan Ball that is coming up in April. Not sure who would be interested in that. I was planning on getting me a nice jacket and taking my wife to it.

Never heard of the restaurant you are mentioning. Where is it?

It is downtown Salt Lake City, next to Temple Square. In the bottom half of the Lion House. The food is good, good portions, and a little less expensive. It is cafeteria style, and the chairs are comfortable.

That sounds like fun as well, would my husband and I need specific attire? As of yet, he doesn't own a kilt, and my Scottish wardrobe is limited too

Everytime I look at the Scottish Association website for one of their formal get togethers, they always mention attire. Typically they say something like this:

Dress for the evening is “best dress” or Highland attire. Kilts and tartans are not required, but if you have one this is the time to “strut your stuff” !

So it is not required. A nice suit would work just fine. Although this would be a good place to start wearing a kilt. A lot of people will be wearing one and he won't feel so uncomfortable.

The dinner idea is a good one. A buffet type place is what I was pushing for with the first try at a kilt night.

Except for the 6th, my schedule is pretty open until around the 3rd week in March....then I don't want to be too far from home.

Oh and FYI, us McMurdos do some big BBQs in the spring and summer and any of the Utah rabble is welcome to meander your way up to Star Valley, WY to attend.
