I would suggest investing in a steamer or hand washing the kilt. That's what I use. Most dry cleaners really don't know what they are doing and can strip the natural oils out of the wool which is bad. Without the lanolin it will make the wool more brittle and easier to damage with regular wear . I have 18 kilts and a steamer has always worked well. You can also get one at a fairly reasonable price at places such as Walmart if you watch the sales.
