Tips for a new kiltmaker??

Hey just new to the site and kiltmaking, i am right now in the middle of making my first kilt. Everything is going great getting a little fustrated because i have never sewed in my life untill now. So if anyone out there has any tips what so ever i will be more and than happy to hear from you. Well hope to hear from you all.

I don't sew and I can't comment on you. But I know Brucebc sews his own kilts. Why don't you come out and join us for a pint and share your experience with us.

It’s good to have you here. I would suggest you to purchase "The Art of Kiltmaking" Step-by-step Instructions for Making a Traditional Scottish Kilt by Barbara Tewksbury and Elsi Stuehmeyer. (Celtic Dragon Press)

Thanks for all the welcomes. I live in the sunny south okanagan. i dont know if anyone else lives in the Okanagan or not. Where abouts you all located??? I would love to come out for a pint sometime
