| | | SOKS kilt night March??
I know this is a little early but tickets are limited and I wanted to get it out there in case SOKS-ers are looking for something to do in March.
The celtic music club that I belong to is hosting Fiddlestix at the Backstage Capitol Theater in Delhi, ON on March 20, 2010.
The Theater is licensed and will be set up 'pub style' with tables and a dance floor. Fiddlestix played last summer at Fergus and they put on a great show.
Delhi is in the heart of tobacco country, and is about 2 hours from Toronto or Buffalo, NY, or about an hour from Hamilton, Waterloo or London. Make your travel plans accordingly. For those that plan on drinking late and staying locally there is plenty of hotel accomodation close by in Simcoe, Woodstock or Brantford.
Ticket info is available on the theater's website. Hope to see you there.

I take from the underwhelming response on this thread that this is a "no". Not a problem.
Given my comments on the Wife jealous of the Kilt thread I don't think this would be a good event for a kilt night anyway.

I would've come down from Stratford but we're going to Toronto for the weekend to see "My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding". OK not really "my" mother, the play, silly. Then on Sunday to the King Tut thingy at the AGO.
Toronto not my favorite place to visit, kinda like....First prize is a weekend in Toronto........second prize,, a whole week..........
Have a good time.
IF your not doing anything on the 17 th, Rant Maggie Rant is playing at Fosters in Stratford. Really great local Celtic band.
Cheers,
Ken

We just moved up to Peterborough so for us it is quite a drive out to that part of the province.

Canoe Museum in a log building at Camp Kandlor near Dorset. I used stop there on my way back from solo canoe trips in Algonquin. It was great to see Kirk Whipper get the order of Canada, got to know Michael Kettemer the curator at the time very well.
The new location in Peterborough is beautiful and well worth the visit, but most of the collection is in the warehouse at the back. The log buildings at Kandalor were a little scary with buckets of water throughout as fire suppression, but you couldn't beat the location.
Please forgive the highjack.
Cheers,
Ken

Cheers,
Ken | That's not what I heard.
The show is supposed to be rather good, I know some of the actors in the show.
So I guess my celebration of the launch of my new website should wait a week when you're back in town. It's OK I might delay the launch a few days work out some bugs.

If you want to attend online you're welcome to. Skype is working, You can follow via twitter and of course it will be detailed on the blog as well as the RKilts Fan Page on Facebook. But most importantly it will be documented on XMarks....then you could just show up |

March 27th 7:30 PM 47 York Street Stratford, ON. I will be hosting a kilt night. Snacks, a wee dram will be supplied. Then we shall visit some local establishments that provide other liquid refreshments.
Cheers
Robert
