Well it was a wee bit cool but all in all, it was a fun day. Four of us (2 kilted men and their wives) started out at Molly MacGuires for an 11 o'clock brunch washed down by a pint of Guiness.
Then we took in the Sons of Scotland and some Scottish dancers on Parliament HILL. A small crowd of about 200 people gathered to watch the show to include mayor O'Brien (whose mother was born in Aberdeen). He declared April 6th as official Tartan Day in Ottawa and presented the Sons of Scotland with a certificate.
After the show, we wandered on down to the Highlander Pub on Rideau St and were surprised to be served a wee dram of Scotch on the "hoose" just for wearing our kilts. We downed a few more Guinesses and headed home.
Unfortunately, no one thought to take any pictures. :crap:

That is why The Highlander is one of my favorite pubs in Ottawa!! It sounds like a good day out, I am sorry I missed it.Thanks for the report!

I was there. I should have introduced myself.
Catch you at the Highlander sometime.
I thought the event was nicely done.

Lee,
Now that I see your avatar, I think you were standing to my left for a while. Facing the Parliament Buildings, I was in the right hand corner of the crowd.

Yes, I was in that area of the 'crowd', Bernie.
