I posted this announcement a few months ago, but now we're down to the two week mark, so I'm doing so again at McMurdo's request.
I'll be visiting Toronto August 15-17 (departing on the afternoon of the 18th). My wife is attending a business convention and I'll be basically on my own. My only plans now are to visit Fort York and perhaps pay a call to the UEL branch.
I'd be happy to meet up with any XMTS for a kilt night.
I'll be arriving at about 5.30pm on Saturday and will be staying at the Fairmont Royal York.
Sir William

I'm afraid I'll be missing your visit - I'll be down in Georgia for another four weeks.
But there should be plenty of friendly Canadians for a kilt night.
And remember - they have the better view of the Falls.

Thanks for putting up the reminder, it really is too bad you'll miss the Fergus Highland Games by about a week. I'm sure Catherine and I will be up for a kilt night, perhaps this time somewhere in the downtown area. Lets see what the others suggest this time.

I thought I'd bump this one up and suggest the Elephant and Castle at 212 King St http://www.elephantcastle.com/conten...ions/king_menu
It is close to the Hotel and the menu seems reasonable, what do you guys think? We will still have to decide on a day.

The more X-Markers, the better!
All we need is a day and time. I'll leave that to the locals to decide.

This weekend people were asking what was next and I mentioned Sir William was coming to Toronto. We'll see who makes it out. If it's OK with everyone how about Saturday night?

The Royal York (nice hotel) is right down town across the street from Union Station (subway) you are within walking distance of many things. You may want to check out the CN Tower, its pretty cool. On the 16th, the Rogers Center have the Canada Kabaddi Cup 2009 Kabaddi, is one of the oldest Indian games dating back 4,000 years. It is a display of skill and power not often seen. Combining elements and characteristics of rugby and wrestling, guests are in for a unique team competition. tip of the week..Bring your sun screen.. if you dont have a way to the Hotel from airport use the yellow airport express bus, it takes you right to the hotel, they run every 20 min or so.. Enjoy your stay (and our beer)
