Burns Goings on in Scotland - March 2011

Anyone who's in Europe this coming March and missed the recent round of Burns Suppers. All is not lost.

Our good ol' mate Robertson (Pour1Malt of X Marks) is hosting two Burns weekends at The Ferintosh Guest House in Dumfries, Scotland and I'm told there are still a few places for anyone (or couples) who is/are interested.

I went to both of these events last year and one in 2009 and I can personally say, They are monumental. A great opportunity to meet X Markers as well as other Kilties from both local and afar.

    The dates are:
Weekend One - Thursday 17 March to Sunday 20 March 2011
Weekend Two - Thursday 24 March to Sunday 27 March 2011

The programme of events for both weekends will consist of:
Thursday Night: A Whisky Tasting Masterclass (New this year).
Friday Night: Pub Supper followed by Kilted Pubcrawl around Dumfries.
Saturday Night: The traditional Burns Supper (link to one of last year's events.)
Sunday Day: A visit to Caerlaverock Castle

My lovely wife and I are going to the second one, should anyone wish to meet me or avoid me, whichever is applicable...
    Best Regards John

    THIS JUST IN!!!

NEW THIS YEAR! Ferintosh will be having their Burns Supper in the very same room where Burns Himself Supped!

Guests will be piped into the Globe Inn's wee back dining room where Burns was a regular visitor and his chair still resides. The Globe Inn (established 1610) is 401 years old this year and a building of amazing historical importance. Burns called the Globe "His Favourite Howff."

Oooohhh I'm looking forward to this! Still some places left on both weekends too apparently.
    Best Regards John
