Wish I could join you but won't be "up north" now until June.

Hi John,
Besides you and me, will there be any local kilties there?
Regards Chas

Any reason why it had to be a week night?

I'd love to show my face in Preston, John - never been there(!) - but, alas, I will be doing my duty with The National Trust that day down here at Petworth House. Hope you have a good turn out though, and have a great time. Don't forget: we need pics of such events.
Take care,
Ham.

I am planning to be in Carlisle earlier in the day next Tuesday. From there it is only an hour's journey by fast Pendolino train to Preston. In theory this meet is possibly doable for me but I can't yet make a firm promise as Ann has been unwell and confined to her room since we came back from Spain so it would be dependent on getting a carer in for her. Will let you know definitely a day or so beforehand. If I do come along I can't stay for the full evening, as the last train back to Carlisle leaves Preston at 21:45. If I catch that one I can be home by around midnight.

Have a grand time and tip a few for all the Xmarkers who can't be there!
Our best goes out to Ann for a Speedy recovery!

I'll be there
And I apologise but I'm the reason that it's on a weekday, but who knows cause if this goes well we could do it again on a weekend night (It's just that I'm usually in Edinburgh or Halesowen at weekends - I spend so much time on the train I'm thinking of making West Coast Main Line my address!)
If anyone does manage to come down by train we wont be far from the station Though best wishes go to Ann.
