I do hear tell that's there's a Caledonian Society Burns' Supper here in Muscat in January (perhaps Thursday 28th). It'll cost around RO 30 per ticket (around GBP 50), so if I go with my wife, it will cost around GBP 100. I also understand it will perhaps be a black-tie do and lacking even a black tie and with there being a severe lack of dress-hire shops here, I think I’ll bow out. (black bow of course !)

Ah well, there’s always their summer ceilidh. Casual wear !

Oman might be quite a popular venue for ex-pat Scots meeting up, I know a Scots pilot based there who flies for Oman Air.

Why not contact them & see how strict they are about dress. We suggest black tie, but we certainly turn anyone away.

I got involved in a Burns Night in Seoul, Korea once. I did not expect it so was dressed casually. It was still a lot of fun!
