    Talking The Joneing begins

    Hi all,

I just got the message from Mike McRea, my dirk shipped. I can't wait to see it. Granted outside the Ren Fairs I probably won't get tons of times to wear it but I'm sure the few I do I will make some others jealous

    Pictures to follow,
    Jim

If you're into blades (which I am, and I feel safe to say you are as well), then just having a nicely made Dirk is sufficient to makes the rest of us jealous! I can't wait to see the pictures.

You can see a little of the hamon on that last picture...looks like a nice natural looking wave. I assume it's sharpened? Very nice. I also like the design on the handle. Thanks for sharing!

Mike does great work- My frist good sgian dubh came from him, He's a heck of a nice guy, too, and multi-talented, Abigail has a couple pairs of earrings that he's made, as well as a really cool forged iron candle stick holder.

But yeah, Jim- That's one of the nicest of Mike's dirks that I've seen. An excelent score!

With a dirk that nice, you're going to have to make some excuses to wear it What about for full formal?

I go to quite a few formal thigs each year. That part isn't such a big issue. Big issue is the 12.5" blade is a bit much for wearing on the streets.

    EDIT -
Called to Richardson Police Department, they said as long as I'm in full dress it shouldn't be to big of an issue.
