    DIY Skinny Neckties

I came across this article today. I know there have been a few DIY tie/bowtie projects posted on the forum so I thought I'd add this one -- perhaps someone will find it useful.

I think tie widths are a bit like women's heeled shoe styles or skirt lengths. Sometimes one style is "in" but the next year there's a full reversal. So I guess if it's a skinny tie year and you don't have any, this guide might be what you're after.

Interesting to see a thrift tie being transformed into a a skinny tie. (wondering are they in style?)

I don't know if they're in style, but I will say that the idea appeals to me because I'm not overly tall or wide. It seems like all the ties I find these days are made for tall, overweight men. They look ridiculously wide on my narrow torso, especially when tied to a shortened length to wear with a kilt. So narrowing a tie for kilting seems like a good idea to me, regardless of whether "skinny ties" are in style amongst the pants-wearing crowd or not.

    Good find, CDNSushi!
