| | Looking for buttons....
Has anyone ever seen a source for buttons, plain or fancy, with a shock or 'garb' of wheat on them?
Something like this...
I've been looking for some nice ones for a jacket, but I've had no luck finding anything!

Dirk and Thistle pewterworks may have something like that. They have a pretty good selection, but I don't have time to look at present. Here's a link: www.dirkandthistle.com

Something like this... | Interesting, the wheat garb is used as a crest for many of the individuals surnamed Wauchope. I'm descended from a James A. Wauchope who settled in the Waxhaws area of North/South Carolina. Any connection?

David | Golden Garbs may also be found on the arms of the Chief of the Clan Cumming. While they appear to be wheat, they are supposed to be garbs of the Cumin plant.
I have also seen a badge for a Williamson with a garb as the crest, and the old Lothian & Border Horse of the Territorials used a similar device.

T. | Hmmm. Maybe use the device in the link below as a starting point and have similar buttons cast in pewter or silver? http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/sh...eo-715596.html

Thanks for the links, I have a wishlist at Dirk and Thistle pewterworks now!
I'm surprised that of all the symbols and devices you see, garbs aren't more common on buttons!
But I'm not so invested in the idea that I'd want to get something custom made.
Thanks again for the help!
