making a jacket smaller
Hi Gang, I have found a lovely vintage jacket for sale, but alas it is probably a size or two too big. Is it a big pain to take it in? Thanks for your help.

That would in likelihood depend on HOW? too big it is. If I was you I would check with a local alterations seamstress and simply ask. If it is not too big then it probably will not be too hard but, if it is way too big than you are looking at disassembling the jacket and completely resizing it.
Just my two cents worth.

Stoff is right, a dart here and there and tuck of the sides will work on (say, size 40 to size 38) smaller conversion. Disassembly will be required if much larger but just takes longer.
