I also own the Armour Class "cup and ring" basket-hilt. It's a copy of a ca. 1670 original. It has a sharpened double-edged blade, and its balance is nearly as nice as some 18th C. originals I've handled.

I don't have one myself, but I've read mostly good reviews of the Albion swords, particularly over at myArmoury.com (reviews section). Pricey, but nice!

Have any of you all tried Albion before? I did not see any Basket Hilt swords but thought the others looked pretty nice. Wasn't sure if they were any good or not, does anybody here have any good or bad reviews of this company?

I don't, and never have, owned an Albion sword... but I have spent an awful lot of time with one in hand at the Atlanta Blade Show, through the years.

I'll put it to you like this- every time I hold an Albion blade (especially their Brescia Spadona), my salivation increases to the point where I feel like I should shove a hanky in my mouth.

Albion is simply the best there is when it comes to production level weapons. I really wish they'd do a basket hilt and expand their Skirmish Line.
