Can't find painting with awkward sporran Moved
I'm looking into ordering a Brass Cantle from Glenn McClain and can't find one of my favorite images, I believe it's eighteenth century Fellow all decked out in tartan with a rectangular cantle top, but it looks as though the cantle is too heavy or something and it's noticeably leaning away from the fellows kilt.
HELP! Somebody has got to know what I'm talking about right?
Any help would be appreciated.

This is a lousy scan, but this might be the portrait you're after. It's Alexander MacDonald of Sleat, and maybe you can google a better image:

I didn't know Glenn was making cantles. What's he asking for one? I have a couple of his blades, and love 'em of course...!

I think he told me 300, but that might be wrong, we talked about it last fall, I'm trying to figure out how to afford a dirk from him right now.

Gosh, there have been dozens here over the last 18 months in various vintage sporran or brass cantle threads.
Here's one that sold on eBay: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...sporran-64708/
