    Quebec rules!

Some of us Canucks have today been trading insults over our favorite province on another thread. To make up for that, and also for the other humour thread I posted today, 'Scottish Compassion' which seems is being greeted with a somewhat subdued reception, although darn it I received it from another Scottish email group, I'm posting this one. While the content is purely Canadian, all you have to do is to substitute names and it'll work all around the world.... Ahem,

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, Toronto scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Ontarians, in the weeks that followed, a Vancouver archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story published in the Vancouver Province: "BC archaeologists, finding traces of 130-year-old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 30 years earlier than the Ontario claim."

One week later, the Droit de Gatineau, reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his backyard Joe Cyr, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely dick all. Joe has therefore concluded that 150 years ago, Quebec had already gone wireless."

Just makes you bloody proud to be from Quebec!

Meanwhile, the Newfies were rolling on the floor laughing, realizing that those in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver just severed their phone lines with a shovel and have no phone service.
