Great visit to the Museum, and Gift Shop :)

I've been in the Asheville, NC area since the weekend, for a family reunion, and had the opportunity on Monday to run out to Franklin, to see the Scottish Tartans Museum and Gift Shop.

If you ever get the chance to stop there, you will enjoy the experience. I learned quite a bit from the wonderful displays and their descriptions. Upstairs in the Gift Shop, I did a little shopping and had the pleasure of meeting Matt.

While there, I picked up a lovely sterling silver necklace with a "gemstone" of heather for my sister, and matching kilt pin for myself, along with some clan items for all the siblings. I also picked up copies of Matt's "Patented Advice For First Time Kilt Wearers", and Barb and Elsie's "The Art of Kiltmaking" (what a fabulous book!)

A great experience. Thanks, Matt, for your hospitality and help in selecting the hose and other items.

You're a lucky man! I hope to get to the STM someday. One of my wife's sisters lives in Tiger, GA and another has a 2nd home west of Sylva, NC - both only a sweaty handcar pull from Franklin. Now, if I can just get them to drive, then I can navigate.

They're all Newsome gals by the way - probably share a distant great grandfather with Matt.
