    Ryan Ross Bonnets

Ryan's bonnets are first rate. Great customer service from both the STM and Ryan. I highly recommend you pick these up. He went well above and beyond for what was a custom order. I have a huge head at 25", and my son, Thomas, is just 14 months old. I ordered one for each of us, and the quality is first rate for both. I think my son will get years of use out of his, and I am sure mine will last close to, if not my entire life. Sturdy construction, and the pride in craftsmanship really shows. The price is really too low for such a great item.

I must echo your praise. I got one a few weeks ago at the Charleston Highland games. Took my balmoral off and i wore the RR Bonnet all day. Top Notch craftmanship Indeed!

I have about $1500 worth of stuff on order from STM (a bit of which I've already received), as well as two kilts in the works directly from Matt Newsome. (San Francisco's rent-control ordinances can be a wonderful thing, as I recently received a 6-figure settlement for being unlawfully evicted by a new building owner from the apartment I lived in for 14 years). I'd been thinking about one (or more) of Ryan's bonnets to go along with the one from TartanWeb that I'm wearing in my avatar pic, and I think this thread just tipped me over the edge.

Maybe I should have ordered a bonnet for my 4yr old son when I commissioned mine.

I'm sure it's not to late, for Ryan to make one for him with yours!

Thanks so much, folks, for all of the kind words!

Also, I'd like to take the opportunity to make the debut of a new bonnet maker. A while back, as the bonnet orders started coming in, I wanted to make sure that wait time was kept as short as possible. At that time, my lovely girlfriend Abigail, a knitter and STM volunteer like myself (and a lurker on X Marks, as well), offered to learn the process of bonnet making and help in this labor of love. She is an exceedingly good study, and is now my partner in haberdashery, as well!

It is her fine work that Aaron and his son recieved, so I wanted to give a shout-out to Abigail's craftsmanship!

Thanks again, folks, and we're both thrilled that our hats are finding such great homes!
