Sporran Wallet - Product Review
My first purchase from the Museum Gift Shop. This place has all three hallmarks of a great vendor: service, price, and quality. I just received my sporran wallet from the Gift Shop. The description "this is the little wallet that could" is very apt. In spite of its small size, the wallet does hold a lot of essential items. It's perfect for keeping your ID, credit card, change, and cash organized in your sporran. The only drawback is that the wallet does not seem secure enough to wear in trousers. Cards and IDs could fall out. The leather the wallet is made from is very soft and supple; it might be too fine to stuff into your jeans pocket. It's not that the wallet seems cheaply made, but you don't sit on your sporran, so it would be safer in your sporran than your pocket.
I would highly recommend this item, especially as a reasonably-priced gift or Christmas stocking-stuffer. It would also appeal to the ladies, as it would fit perfectly into an elegant evening purse.
Bottom line, for that sleek-sporran-look without leaving your wallet in your other trousers, get the Sporran Wallet.

I couldn't agree more. I bought one of these "taxi wallets" before they were being sold through STM, specifically for sporran use; but it has since become my "everyday carry" wallet for all-around use.

I need to grab one of these. I've been doing the "stick a couple of cards in your bank roll- big bills on the outside" thing for a while now. Pocket diet.

Thanks for the great review:

As an update, we actually have a few dark brown on hand now, which don't show up as an option yet on our web site. But you can phone in your order and get one. We should also have a few with us down at Stone Mountain this year.
Thanks for supporting our museum!

Matt, is the shipping to Canada really $25? That far more than doubles the price.

Can't say about shipping to/from Canada, but Canadian postal prices are INSANE!!!!!!!
Last time I had mom send me a package, it cost around $100. If the package had been mailed south of the border, it would have cost her a QUARTER of the price. It's truly out of control, and inexcusable.
<sigh> Whatever....

Re: Sporran Wallet - Product Review
I have an STM sporran wallet and only use it with my sporrans to carry cash, credit cards, licenses, and similar small, flat items.
It works well. It helps minimize sporran clutter, and makes it easier to quickly retrieve a particular item when needed.

Today was the first day in the last 8 days that I wasn't wearing a kilt. I also use my STM sporran wallet when not wearing my kilt and I only need my drivers license, a credit card and a bit of cash. So I find it very useful.
