Thanks, James. The ancient is what I wanted. What would it cost to have the entire six meters made into a kilt? Is there a sale price on that? I'd place an order today, but I'm flat broke. Tomorrow the eagle flies, and I can place an order.

I bought one of these in 16 oz British Columbia tartan when they were on sale at the same price in 2012. I'm very satisfied with the kilt and have no hesitation recommending these on-sale kilts. At this price, you just can't find a better deal.

We can do a 4 yard kilt with an extra yard for pleats and swing. Believe that works out to $275.00. 5 yards works out to 4.6 meters I will have to ask about a 6 meter kilt. Also its worth noting that the SPRING10 discount doesn't apply to the 199.00 kilts (found that out today) sorry!

Just spoke with my boss because the kilt is 6 yards it's in between a 5 yard casual and a 7 yard Edinburgh we can remove 40 dollars off the 7 yard kilt so the price would be $507.00 + you can get the 10% discount also.

I decided to order my Stewart Hunting Ancient $199 4-yard kilt with an extra yard of tartan, "for pleats and swing." This raised cost to $241. This will save me quite a bit of money over the five hundred plus dollars quoted above for the six yard kilt. I can easily live with a five-yard kilt, if it means saving that much money.

Still, I believe these are going to be very nice kilts. You get them made to order from Locharron woolen tartan. right now, you're not going to beat the price anywhere else.

Customer service is great. I've had several exchanges with James directly, and always received clear concise answers to my questions.

Working with James is definitely a pleasure, he's very quick to respond to questions. The 5-yard deal is also very tempting, but in my case I think there was just enough wool for the 4-yard. Either way, I'm excited about the 16oz Locharron woolen tartan. The Jones has already kicked in (patience is not my strong suit).

I have one of these that I picked up years ago, it is a wonderful kilt. At this price you just can not beat it. Oh and Burnetts and Struth are always a pleasure to work with.

I've got two of these kilts on order now and am double jonesing. For me these will be transitional kilts. I'm steadily losing weight. The kilts I have, all but one acrylics or p/v are becoming too large if I'm to continue kilting I'm going to need new ones. Like most, I'd really prefer woolen kilts, but am not prepared to spend big money on kilts that may not fit in a few months. This $199 kilt deal offers a good compromise: quality goods and workmanship at a more affordable price. I asked that my kilts be made so they can be buckled tighter as time goes by.

I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep, so got on the computer and placed my second order. Left a message on the B&S on-line contact form, and had a reply from James waiting for me about 7:30 this morning. He mustn't have finished his coffee yet. He was right on top of things. Not only that, but he phoned me just a little bit ago to talk about my order.

I'm giving Burnett's & Struth a big thumbs up for now. We'll see how things are when the kilts arrive. Bet it's two thumbs up then.

If anyone is interested we have enough 16oz British Columbia tartan to make a 4 yard casual kilt for 199.00 and a fly plaid.
