Any idea what this tartan is?

I'm thinking about buying the fabric to make a Kilt, but I'm having a hard timg getting a positive ID on the tartan.

A modern 'dress' type sett. Can't find it in the STS Master Db.

Aye. I think I like it because it reminds me of the Macdonald Modern dress tartan but I haven't been able to figure it out in the database or any of my books.

It has the overall effect of the 'Dress Burgundy" dancer's tartan listed here: http://www.dcdalgliesh.co.uk/dress-tartans.html

Dalgliesh fabric is really nice, so if you're going to have a kilt made in a dancer's tartan I'd suggest you go with them. Even their lightweight fabric (which these are) has a kilting selvedge and can be used to make a traditional kilt.

There's a couple it's very similar to but I can't quite tack it down.
It's actually fabric from a VERY large ladies Kilted skirt and I planned to remake it into general wear Kilt for myself. (I try to dance only in my heaviest Kilts. Scottish Country Dancing is very... energetic, as you know.)

Hard to tell from the photo, but looks like Dress Pride of Scotland
