Chief's Choice
Wondering which version of Clanranald tartan might be preferred by the Ranald the Captain, I've come across a couple of pics of him wearing, well, not MacDonald of Clanranald. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he appears to be wearing MacDonald of Sleat kilt with a rather large set of MacDonald clan over his shoulder.
Why might the chief of Clanranald be wearing Sleat?

MY bad. It appears to be MacKay or an alternate Clanranald tartan.

Yeah, I can't find it listed anywhere else as MacKay either.
