    Jah Man!

Is there an official tartan for the Isle of Jamaica? If so, what mill weaves it?

    No hurry.

Sorry, I don't find that tartan when searching Scotweb for "Jamaica." Is that one you designed?

There is no Jamaica tartan recorded with the National Register. The Scottish Tartans Authority has two Jamaica tartans recorded at Nos. 5290 and 5291, both designed in 1996 by Bill Johnson (USA). I don't know who wove them, or if indeed they were ever woven. Neither appear to have been officially adopted by Jamaica.

It was designed by Mike Oettle. XMTS member from South Africa. He also designed one called Jamaica Saltire which of the two, I prefer. Neither are registered but reside as member created tartans on the Scotweb Tartan Design webby thing so you can't buy them as yet. I don't know what Mike's plans are for them but I know he's working on a Tartan for the Republic of South Africa which has been discussed here.
    Best Regards John
