    Question New Tartan Advice

I designed a tartan for the sheriff's office that I work for, and have been honored to have the Sheriff accept my design. Since the design has been approved, I am mainly looking to double-check that the pattern is acceptable for making into a kilt. Will it "pleat" correctly, etc.

    Here is the pattern:

    Black 6
    Gold 6
    Black 78
    Peroxide White 2
    Balmoral Blue 6
    Morning Grey 12
    Black 12
    Morning Grey 12

    Any advice is appreciated.

To me ... it looks like it should pleat well.

I really like your design. I'm thinking of doing a blackish tartan myself. Very elegant.

That's really slick. It's simple and pretty well balanced. Very clean, not too busy. Well done.

I can't say how well it will pleat, but I'm sure a good kiltmaker can get most any sett to pleat up.

I'd like to see it box-pleated to the yellow stripes, hiding the white in the underpleats, which would "flash" as you walk.

By the way, the weaver might not necessarily perfectly match the colors and shades you've listed, but it will be a handsome tartan regardless.
