    Tartan tweed kilt selvedge ?

What kind of selvedge is on a tweed tartan kilt?
Is it a kilt selvedge? Fringed? Hemmed?

    Thanks
    Eric

Re: Tartan tweed kilt selvedge ?

Depends on the maker and on the weaver really. On the Harris tweeds the selvedge is usually a bit uneven, and I have hemmed them, on the Marton Mills ones, I've left the selvedge as it fine. Personally I'm not keen on the fringed edge, but it's a option.
Speak to the maker as there isn't one answer, often a choice.
