Vote for your favourite tartans

A few people (including Rex, amongst his many helpful ideas) have suggested our online Tartan Designer could really benefit from a voting feature to let people comment on designs they like or don't like so much...

So we've just done that. It's gone live today at http://www.scotweb.co.uk/tartandesign/ You can vote on other people's designs (or indeed your own) and also leave comments.

But after some discussion we've decided to enable this facility not only for new designs, but also for all recorded tartans. We're hoping people will rate their favourites (and least favourites) and add comments that may help other users to interpret the huge number of designs available.

So this is just a wee heads-up to anyone here who is interested in tartans. We've really love it if you could take a quick look in, and rate some of your own personal favourite (or pet hate) tartans - to set the ball rolling, so to speak.

I think it should all be clear enough not to need further explanation. But if anyone has other thoughts or ideas to share, do please get in touch with me directly...

Cheers

Nick

That's what we're hoping. As well as building up into (hopefully) a relatively accurate reflection of which tartans people find most aesthetic, it'll provide a space for people to share snippets of information. We'll probably extend it to our main tartan finder soon, but I'd like to see how it's used here first.

Nick, that is a great feature. I have been tartan surfing for a bit; this lets me analyze what and why I like the patterns I do
