    Scot Gaelic in Colorado?

I read a small newspaper clipping on the internet about a year ago that talked about there being a small group of bilingual people outside of Golden, CO that spoke a "very perverted form of Scottish Gaelic." I cannot find the clipping again, and it seemed pretty old, but do any of you know anything about this?

My grandfather Archibald Macdonald was from Cape Breton Island and his mother spoke only Gaelic so I imagine he did too. He mined in Idaho City, Colorado around the 1880s. But he moved on to Montana so doubt he left an cluster of Gaelic speakers that would have survived.

My grandfather talked about the many Gaelic speaking miners that his father hung out with. My guess is, wherever this group is its probably around a mining area.

My thoughts exactly. I figured that they had come here to mine, as many nationality and racial groups traveled together once they got to North America. I have read about this with Italians, Germans, Welsh, Scots-Irish and many other groups, but this is the only time I have ever read anything about Scots Gaelic speakers.
